Original diamond ring: a modern ring
In white gold or rose gold, a diamond ring is a jewelry staple, admired for its exquisite elegance and brilliance worthy of the grandest flames. Whether as a gift or for yourself, don't be swayed by the wide selection of precious stones; let your emotions be expressed with the noblest of all stones, the diamond. Whether it's a ring or a wedding band, at Bäumer Vendôme, you are sure to find a piece from a collection that will most faithfully reflect your emotions. Timeless, an original diamond ring in diamond resists the whims of fashion, just like your feelings, which will not be shaken by life's trials.
Diamond ring symbol
The diamond ring is certainly the solitaire with the greatest romantic symbolism throughout time. Indeed, delicately encircling the finger, this ring represents the very quintessence of personified love. For a wedding, engagement, or any other important event, the diamond ring or band is full of promises and commitments. For an engagement or wedding, discover our wide selection of models of wedding bands, rings, and solitaires.
The circular and infinite shape of the ring makes this piece of jewelry the most precious symbol for sealing one's love on the big day. This same circular shape, symbolizing eternity, is usually set with a stone, often a diamond, the noblest stone to personify one's love. Highly sought after and present in jewelry, this precious stone of incomparable beauty has superior strength. A symbol of purity, diamond rings, in their most original forms, are generally chosen as engagement rings, a sign of love and admiration a man holds for a woman.
Full of emotions and a faithful translation of feelings, this symbol of love can also be set with a stone other than a diamond: emerald, sapphire, ruby, or other precious stones will give a feminine and refined style and have another symbolic value. Indeed, jewelry is an art capable of making you feel strong and memorable emotions. Push the unconditional limits of jewelry and let your feelings express themselves to create the original diamond ring that represents you.
Diamond shape
The cut of a diamond is certainly one of the most important elements of the 4Cs, as it refers to the facets of a diamond that will interact with light. In this sense, the cut determines the quality and, consequently, the beauty of the diamond. Diamonds pair perfectly with all types of gold, regardless of the design. In its workshop, Maison Bäumer adheres to strict standards regarding diamond quality, to ensure you benefit from the most beautiful stones to set your rings, wedding bands, and solitaires that will be added to your jewelry collection.
Because jewelry is an art without limits, give free rein to your desires and your imagination to have your ring set with a diamond of your chosen carat weight, cut, and shape. If you are preparing for a wedding or engagement, create the original diamond ring, for men or women, of your dreams, a uniquely styled piece that will be the jewel of your life.
There are six common diamond shapes in jewelry that we work with in our workshops.
Round Brilliant Cut Diamond
The brilliant round diamond is certainly the ultimate diamond shape because it is the most brilliant. Thus, this cut is a safe bet.
Princess-cut diamond
Square or rectangular, the princess cut diamond is a safe bet to ensure strong brilliance for your stone. Original, this shape will delicately and elegantly adorn your fingers.
Pear-shaped diamond
This diamond cut, with its rounded and pointed edges, is an extremely difficult shape to cut. Maison Bäumer puts its excellent expertise at your service to set your ring with a superior quality pear-shaped diamond.
Cushion-cut diamond
A trendy and highly popular shape in recent years, the cushion-cut diamond boasts a very elegant and feminine form. Possessing extreme brilliance, its properties are similar to those of the round diamond. Maison Bäumer also advises pairing this diamond with a pavé setting of white diamonds.
Oval-shaped diamond
The oval diamond has an elongated and imposing cut while exuding a natural elegance not found in other shapes. Set on a ring, this oval cut diamond will elegantly and delicately adorn your fingers.
Being less expensive than the round brilliant diamond, the oval diamond is an interesting alternative to the latter.
Marquise-cut diamond
A very rare cut, it has undeniable elegance and originality. With its two pointed ends and elongated shape, the marquise cut diamond has 56 to 60 facets and is also an alternative to the round brilliant cut diamond.
Diamond color
At the heart of a piece of jewelry, color, like the purity of a diamond, is an essential element, part of the 4Cs of diamonds. Indeed, this criterion is certainly the second most important of the 4Cs because it has a direct influence on the appearance of the stone and its clarity in natural light.
The color of the stone is one of the characteristics used to determine the price of a diamond, based on its classification. This differs between white or colorless diamonds and colored diamonds. Indeed, where white diamonds are estimated according to a scale of shades ranging from brilliant white to pale yellow, colored diamonds, which are much rarer than colorless ones (5% of diamonds), are classified according to their intensity. Before being cut, diamonds have a slight yellow tint. There is a diamond color scale, knowing that the closer a diamond is to colorless (D), the rarer it is. The letter referring to the diamond's color extends from letter D (colorless) to letter Z (tinted or light yellow).
Regarding colored diamonds, also known as fancy colored diamonds, they are rarer than white diamonds and result from the presence of gas during the crystallization of the gem. For example, the black diamond is a rare but elegant jewel. The color varies according to the type of gas to which the carbon atoms have been exposed: for example, the presence of nitrogen will give a yellow diamond, while the presence of boron will bring out the blue color.
Colored diamonds have their own classification according to their chromatic intensity. Therefore, a diamond's "Fancy Color," meaning its hue, is estimated according to its intensity: the more intense the color, the higher the diamond's value. The "Fancy" designation begins after "Z," with a hint of color being accepted for the white diamond scale: Fancy light (very low intensity). Maison Bäumer wishes to provide you with diamonds of exceptional properties. In this sense, we only accept diamonds with a color between D and I for our rings.
Lorenz Bäumer adheres to the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS). This international project certifies and controls all transactions of rough diamonds so that the sale of diamonds does not fuel any armed conflict or criminal enterprise.
The commitment to the Responsible Jewellery Council is an additional opportunity for Lorenz Bäumer to exercise his uncompromising rigor, as every diamond must meet the highest requirements in terms of quality and purity. All our jewelry and designs are therefore conceived with the utmost respect for responsible environmental and human standards.
